Pleasantly Suprised!

I'm impressed by this little guy. It's better than I thought it would be for the price.
Seems to be very well made. Pretty much all metal from what I can tell except for the trim around the control panel and air filter compartment of course. Even the fuel shut off valve is metal. Something you don't see much these days (if one even exists).
The one I received from GeneratorDepot actually appears to be an updated version from the one pictured. It has a plug in battery charging cable instead of posts. The control panel is designed a bit different and the unit has a more square appearance overall. Looks better in my opinion.
It is a Pro2 so I guess the manufacturer decided to improve the model without changing the designation.
It started right up after a couple pulls. I did open the carburetor drain screw for a second or two initially.
Of course, it is not as quiet as an inverter generator or as light but it costs 1/3 to 1/4 as much. It is still pretty quiet thanks to a large baffled muffler.
It seems to handle its rated load quite well along with an initial surge. The engine increases and decreases speed as the load changes while the output stays fairly constant, maybe 5 volts either way.
It came with about a half quart of oil (sealed) for initial use, a nice funnel, spark plug wrench, battery charging cable, manual (actually readable) and a cover which is nice for a freebie.
Remains to be seen how well it holds up since I just got it but I plan to use synthetic oil in it after the initial break in period so that should help. I'll try to post an update in a few months since I'll probably be using it daily.
Bottom line: seems to be a good deal for the price, shipping was fast (well packed) and customer service was very friendly when I called about status after ordering online over a holiday weekend.

I bought it after the Ice storm of 09, I lost power for 7 days, I ran my 5000 watt generator alot and found out it's quite a gas hog. I bought this one to run the refigerator, 19 inch TV and a light. I tested it out and it starts and runs the refigerator just fine with the TV and light on. This generator has a noise level of 61 db and I belive it, it is so much quieter than my big one. Mine cam with the 12 volt battery cables, oil, funnel, spark plug wrench, and a cover that fits perfect.

Retired, Robert G. (Southington, CT).
Gentron 10,000w Generator
"Excellent product. Received as advertised.
Did some assembly, battery was included. Started right up on the first try using
key start. Runs smoother than my old Briggs and Stratton generator. I like the
fact that it charges the battery while it is running. Also like the fact that it
has a clock on it that shows how many hours it has on it so far. Sturdy frame,
super tires. Would recommend it to anyone. "
